Samaná is located approximately 2-1/2 hours east of Cabarete and 2 hours north of Santo Domingo. The charming town of Samaná is approximately 5 minutes east of Puerto Bahí a and is internationally known for its whale watching and cruise ship layovers.

The famous Las Terrenas on the north side of the Samaná Península is a scenic 25 minute drive away. Las Galeras on the tip of the pení nsula is a great day trip. One vacation option is to fly into Santo Domingo and stay a few days at Puerto Bahí a, then stay a few more days in Cabarete and fly home out of Puerto Plata. The reverse is also an option.
