Catalyst is located in in Samana which is approximately 2-1/2 hours east of Cabarete or 2 hours north of Santo Domingo. It is available with a Cabarete Lifestyle Resort rental and has a 2-day minimum. Maximum occupancy is 8 persons plus crew.

The lifestyle aboard the Catalyst can take many forms. One may be one of elegance with a private chef and leisurely sails. Another might be more rugged and adventurous with the focus on strong winds and exploring new areas. Much of it may depend upon the weather. If the winds are calm, there can be multiple stops for swimming or lunch. On the other hand, if the winds are brisk, farther destinations can be sought. Certain stops are also more conducive to smooth rides when the waves are strong. So, sail plans may be re-scheduled at a moments notice.

The boat is currently docked at the new marina in Puerto Bahia. Because the new resort is still under construction, promotional charter rates are being offered. When finished, Puerto Bahia will offer hotel rooms and luxurious apartments and villas. However, because of all the construction, there are no rooms, restaurants, or retail shops available at this time. Thus, all amenities are included on the boat. (Shopping and sight-seeing is available in Samana.)

Depending on the weather, nights can be spent either at the dock in the Puerto Bahia marina or out in one of the eleven anchorages surrounding Samana. The boat is fully equipped and includes air conditioning and an electric generator for A/C electrical power. Each of the four cabins includes it own head (bathroom) and shower. Towels and linens are included.

Not included in the charter is transportation costs to Samana, all food and beverages, and golf or sight-seeing packages.

LIFESTYLES

PLAN 1: "Golfer's Package" - This plan includes a round of golf at the fabulous ocean-front Playa Grande golf course which is about half-way between Cabarete and Samana. Departure on Day 1 would be early in the morning to allow time for a round of golf and lunch at Playa Grande. Dinner in the evening would either be at a restaurant in Samana or on the boat in Puerto Bahia. Day 2 would be a day of sailing around the Samana Bay. Day 3 would include a round of golf at Playa Grande on the way back to Cabarete. (This plan can be designed as a 2-day package.)

PLAN 2: "Samana Beaches" - This plan includes leisurely sails with the goal of dropping anchor off some of Samana's best beaches. Breakfast and lunch would be on board and dinner can either be on-board or in a local restaurant. Depending on the winds, the sailing can be either relaxing or exillerating.

PLAN 3: "Base of Operations" -  This plan includes using yacht as a base of operations while sight-seeing and touring the Samana area. Meals can either be in restaurants or on the boat. Other options include a private chef on the boat or food catered from local restaurants and served on the boat. The boat can be used for transportation under sail or by use of the dual diesel engines. The main focus of this plan is using the boat as a place to stay and relax while taking in the Samana Peninsula

PLAN 4: "Serious Sailing" - This plan is for guests that feel a "need for speed" and serious sailing is the main objective. Most likely, breakfast and lunch will be served on board. Dinners out will be optional. Sailing will include numerous tacks (changes in direction through the wind) and the focus will be on trimming the sails for maximum speed everywhere we go.

PLAN 5: "Sailing Lessons" - This plan is for guests who would like to learn how to sail. There will be classes on the boat while in port (or at anchor) to go over theory and fundamentals. "Hands on" training will then follow as we go out and practice what we learned

PLAN 6: "Kiteboard & Windsurf Excursions" - This plan is for guests that want to do some kiting and windsurfing is the Samana area. Nights will be spent at various anchorages and kite and windsurf equipment will be stored on deck. (Each guest must provide their own equipment.)

Individuals or Groups - This yacht is available for both individuals and groups. Therefore, if you are an individual (or couple) you may request a cabin on a "standby" basis. In other words, your request will be granted based on other individuals or couples filling up the remaining cabins during your requested time period. There is, of course, always the options of paying for the vacant cabins to secure the reservation.
